[Now back to your regularly scheduled post…]
The NAR conference was packed with some great opportunities. Between classes I attended, classes where I was the speaker and business breakfasts, lunches and dinners, I was running ALL DAY!!
Here are my biggest takeaways:
“Pushing past your darkest moments leads to your greatest successes.” Liz Murray who went from being homeless to attending Harvard University on a full scholarship.
“Things that once seemed impossible later on seemed inevitable.” Condoleeza Rice, former Secretary of State
“Worrying about deficits right now is like worrying about water conservation when your house is on fire.” FHA Commissioner David Stevens
“Agents don’t need bigger plaques from their brokers this year. They need bigger missions.” Steve Harney (sorry, couldn’t resist)
Pam O’Connor of LeadingRE is truly one of the great leaders in Real Estate today….Short Sales will surge in 2010….Bud Clark of Willis Allen is a gentleman’s gentleman and knows how to get his audience thinking….Hoddy Hanna is a gracious winner….Rosey Koberlein of Long Realty understands the true meaning of the word ‘accountability’….The only street I have ever seen that comes close to Bourbon Street in New Orleans is Fifth Street in San Diego….Matthew Ferrara isn’t crazy, he is brilliant….Talking about uber intelligence, let’s not forget Eric Bryn….Seeing Steve Murray and Nicolai Kolding together for the first time confirmed what I already believed – they are going to be a really powerful team….Wayne Edwards of IAR is a great educator and a truly nice man….Mike Staver understands how to build great company culture better than almost anyone I know….It was fabulous to see so many people wearing their KCM pins and to see KCM members sharing great ideas AND REFERRALS!!
After attending the convention, I am convinced that 2010 will be a year of GREAT OPPORTUNITY!!
